Federal government and estuarine pollution abatement, F
It is emphasized that coordinated national action is urgently needed to protect and restore estuaries; federal role is shown to be two-fold -- pollution control actions to fullest extent of current knowledge and legal authority to limit and prevent damage being done to estuaries and to restore damaged environment; and simultaneously, studies by several federal agencies on various aspects of estuarine pollution and its control in order to fill large gaps in knowledge and recommend stronger estuarine pollution control programs.
