Information on design and construction of Benelux Tunnel at Rotterdam and Tingstad road tunnel at Gothenburg; former is in shape of circular arc of 1300 m radius; 795-m-long closed section is of eight prefabricated sections; there is ventilation building on each bank; Tingstad tunnel comprises covered section 454 m long together with 60-m-long approach ramps at each end; it consists of five concrete sections; foundation problems arising from unforeseen difficulties in keeping site free from mud are dealt with in particular.
