A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
First prefabricated pools came into use in West Germany in 1967; plans and descriptions of 14 repetitive types which lend themselves well for prefabrication are presented; working committee of IAB (International Academy of Balneology) and German Swimming Association proposed standard reference point situated 5 cm below pool rim as starting point for all upward and downward measurements for prefabricated pools; four swimming pool plants have been created; it has been proved that indoor pools can be built within 9 mo, to firm prices and good quality, completely or partly prefabricated.
