Soil structure arching analysis of buried flexible structures
Study of pressure redistribution across top of buried flat-roofed structure in shape of circular arch; location of soil arch support was assumed to be at location of maximum shear stress within soil mass as determined by theory of elasticity; differential equation was written using circular arch; when all necessary parameters, including nonlinear modulus of passive resistance for soil, were included, resulting differential equation was not readily integrable; therefore, numerical integration procedure was used to obtain solutions.
