Vibration absorbers for single degree freedom systems
Vibration absorbers have been extensively used to reduce amplitude of vibrations of systems subjected to steady state excitations; in this study, application of vibration absorbers to earthquake type excitation has been investigated; equations of motion have been derived and methods for solution indicated; results indicate that vibration absorbers are also effective for earthquake type excitations.
