Earthquake resistance of high-rise structures
Purpose of paper is to update recommendations of other authors by relating them to pertinent sections of 1963 American Concrete Institute Code, to describe approach to design of joints, and to point out some specific cases of beam-column connections; beam and column reinforcement details are summarized; examples of calculation of shear stresses carried by concrete at various levels of column, and forces and shears at beam-column joints without transverse or spandrel beams; simplified design of column web reinforcement.
