Finite element analysis of nonlinear structures
Potential energy, direct and incremental finite-element analysis models are formulated for nonlinear pre- and post-buckling analyses; quadratic eigenvalue model is developed for prediction of critical load levels; analysis models are expressed in matrix notation within framework of finite-element technology and interconsistency is observed among component matrices; these matrices are given geometrical interpretation and hierarchy of nonlinearity is developed.
