Contribution to stability analysis of compression members with flexurally rigid cross-bars
System of two parallel compression members braced by regularly spaced cross bars is considered; stabilizing effect of bracing on buckling safety is investigated; from eigenvalue equations for buckling conditions, buckling coefficient is obtained as function of rigidity, and its limiting values as well as limiting values of effective length of compression members are determined for cases of two, three, and four cross bars; applicable to design of arms of large radial gates.
