Analysis of coupled shear walls of variable cross-section
Analysis is based on continuous connection technique, extended to include effects of shearing deformations in walls; theoretical predictions of both deflections and stresses are compared with results from tests on model structure subjected to uniformly distributed lateral load; structure considered is symmetrical coupled shear wall, perforated with single band of openings, and having abrupt change in width at some height.
