Temperature dependence of ball impression hardness
Experimental data show that K.Waitzmann's method for calculating yield strength from ball impression hardness values is applicable only with room temperature values; it is found that temperature dependence of conversion factor when plotted on semilogarithmic scale is straight line; variations in steel composition seem to cause parallel displacement of this line; possibility of deriving new conversion factor on this basis is discussed.
