Some aspects of dam spillway-system's design
Experiences gained in course of small-scale model tests performed for design of spillway structures of hillside dam storage reservoirs constructed for ensuring industrial water supply in Hungary; laboratory investigations on models at scale 1 to 10 and 1 to 20 were conducted with special regard to study of spillways, collector canals, high-head chutes and energy dissipating systems; some examples illustrating difficulties encountered in connection with investigating air entrainment on models are discussed.
