Estimation of electro-osmotic efficiency in soils
Electro-osmosis depends on degree of exclusion of ions of one sign from pore fluid; media with low exchange and high exchange capacities are considered in relation to electro-osmotic flow; this flow is virtually unaffected by salinity increase in pore water because of good co-ion exclusion; electro-osmotic transport value is important in finding energy requirements and feasibility of electro-osmotic dewatering.
