Consolidation and geochemistry of some clays
Two-parameter power law has been used to describe viscous resistance to compression occurring during soil consolidation; this paper attempts to appraise two empirical constants appearing in power law; specifically, attempt is made to relate these constants to mineralogical, chemical, and physical properties of select set of remolded clays; expressions for these constants are presented which are analogous to Skempton relationship for compression index of normally consolidated clay.
