Influence of soil properties on static sounding resistance
Results of investigations of sounding tests carried out by different authorities are described; practical use of sounding cone and great number of calibration tests showed that qualitative determination of density of sandy soils is possible; it was shown that sounding results can be quantitatively used for determination of bearing capacity of piles or caissons.
