Undrained strength characteristics of cohesionless soils
Study concerns relationship between drained and undrained strength characteristics, and also data for noncavitating tests on dense sands; undrained strength of noncavitating samples was determined by critical confining pressure of soil and angle of friction corresponding to constant volumes conditions, regardless of magnitude of confining pressure to which sample is subjected; values of critical confining pressures provide useful basis for evaluation of undrained strengths of saturated cohesionless materials.
