Calculation of thermal comfort -- Introduction of basic comfort equation
New method of approach is presented to study conditions for thermal comfort; based on experiments with college-age subjects, it was found that magnitudes of mean skin temperature and sweat secretion, both as functions of subject's activity level, are usable as basic conditions for thermal comfort; method is used to derive comfort equation with principal variables of air temperature, humidity, mean radiant temperature, relative air velocity, activity level, and insulation value of clothing.
