Rigid-frame bridge of prestressed concrete
Structure which is 45 ft span over Cherwell river, Oxford, England, consists of two cast-in-place rigid frames and deck of prestressed, precast concrete plank; width between rails is 8 ft and clear height above mean water level is 5 ft 9 in.; Freyssinet system used for prestressing; to prevent bond with concrete, each cable was sheathed in light gage metal tubing.
