Pipe is composed of extra mild sheet steel seamed by water gas or seamless; it is encircled at regular intervals by highly resistive steel hoops between each of which pipe wall is slightly undulated, "corrugation" so to speak, being obtained by pressure on pipes and hoops after placing; this type of pipe is stated to be lighter than ordinary kind, and more economical. See brief translated abstract in Water and Water Eng., vol. 29, no. 342, June 20, 1927, p. 252.
