New Murray river bridge, South Australian Railways
Bridge is strongest and second longest in Australia and marks completion of large program of bridge strengthening to raise all main-line bridges in South Australia to Cooper E-50 standard; it is 1880 ft. long and consists of eighteen 70-ft. deck-plate-girder swamp spans, two 185-ft. parallel truss spans, and one 240-ft. curved truss span; substructure is concrete.
