Cementation of aluminum by copper
Trying various methods, authors obtain best results by heating aluminum cylinders to be treated in neutral atmosphere in electric furnace after having deposited electrolytic copper on specimen; cementation set in above 544 deg. cent.; as temperature rose up to 660 deg. penetration of alloy into core increased continuously to 1. 59 mm., but Brinell hardness attained its maximum near 615 deg.
