Trench Sheeting Shields Wellpoint System
Two sheeting methods used on each side of sewer trench provides 9-in. space between for jetting wellpoints; in shore sheeting, one method permits use of random lengths of timber, securing them to exposed faces of soldier beams with simple clips; in other method, internal trench bracing consists of two levels of steel walers and cross-trench struts of heavy timbers joined to form T-section members; struts are deployed on 15-ft centers; it is shown that trenching-dewatering system used keeps excavation to minimum in sand and maintains dry working conditions.
