Effluent disposal in south San Francisc Bay
Effects of discharging effluent from proposed primary treatment plant to South San Francisco Bay estuary system are evaluated using both Corps of Engineers' hydraulic model of San Francisco Bay and specially developed mathematical model; results obtained indicate that BOD concentration will decrease logarithmically along deep-water channel in both directions from point of discharge; steady-state BOD concentration over proposed discharge location was estimated to be 7.0 mg/liter and 2.0 mg/liter using mathematical and hydraulic models respectively.
