Feasibility of improved subsurface disposal
Simplified and improved design for subsurface septic-tank soil absorption systems is presented; design involves intermittent dosing of cavity with storage volume equal to expected weekly water use in three-bedroom home, and is based on results obtained from laboratory studies; economics and system life are used to compare scheme to conventional design; scheme is economically competitive with conventional design and offers extended system life; risks associated with scheme are described and evaluated.
