Design and detailing of irregular 90 ft high rigid-jointed spaceframe, consisting of 180 booms, 38 columns, and foundations; 73 roof membranes, with detailed strip patterns; connectors between roof membranes and booms, involving some 6000 accurately positioned bolts; roof membranes, which are made of vinyl coated fiberglass, span between surrounding roof booms without intermediate support, and cover areas up to 3000 sq ft in size; roof structure was analyzed for dead load, membrane pretention, and wind load; for each membrane effect of pretension on booms and structure was simulated by means of two concentrated forces applied at third points of boom.
