Increasing strength of working rolls in cold rolling mill
Extensive tests have demonstrated beneficial effect of mains frequency induction heating of working rolls on Tsniitmash machine; this machine produces intense heat flow into body of roll with stable thermal and technical characteristics, efficiently distributing necessary temperature in cross section and in width of roll barrels; it ensures optimum thermal roll profile and makes it possible to arrange preheating program to conform with operational schedule; service life increased by factor of 2 to 2.8. (see also English translation in Stal in English n 8 Aug 1967 p 667-70)
