Plastic flow of rock under pointed punch in plane strain
Solutions are presented for plane-strain flow of rock under pointed punch for two cases; in first problem indentation of half space by pointed punch is considered, and in second, influence of previous indentation on formation of next indentation is evaluated; plasticity theory used in this analysis was developed earlier for rock mechanics applications; this theory incorporates yield surface which is dependent on mean normal stress and normality of deformation rate vector to yield surface.
