Specimens of loess at various moisture contents were tested in Hveem stabilometer by using different compactions; resistance was calculated and resistance-moisture content-dry density relationship was examined; California method for flexible pavement design, based on Hveem stabilometer tests, was investigated; necessary base-course thicknesses for various design loadings of highway containing subgrade of Avoca Valley loess were calculated and compared with bearing ratio pavement depths.
