Problems encountered in using elevation power spectra as criteria of pavement condition
Pavement condition criterion was influenced by location, accuracy and spacing of elevation measurements, and by method used to determine pavement roughness from variation in measurements; influence of these factors on resulting power spectrum was investigated, and pavement condition criterion obtained from some of these spectra was compared with corresponding Bureau of Public Roads roughometer rating for certain highways.
