Sand and gravel in road construction
Geological formation of variety of types of sands and gravels in Great Britain and their economic significance to road building industry are indicated; restrictions on usage of sands and gravels in road building materials are discussed with reference to theoretical properties of various materials in which they are used; possible method of classification of aggregates according to their engineering properties is suggested, and way in which this could be used to simplify specification of materials is described.
