Details of design and construction. Largest vessels for which lock has been built are of from 2000 to 2400 tons carrying capacity; total length, 1100 ft.; useful length, 860 ft.; width, 52 ft. 6 in.; depth on sills, 12 ft. 6 in. below low water. (See also - no. 3480 Sept. 8 1922, pp. 235-238)
