Construction of eight prestressed concrete tanks
Ministry of Works specifications were that each tank have capacity of 430,000 gal with max depth of liquid 33 ft, giving internal diam of 50 ft, that they should be impervious to liquid of specific gravity of 1.03, that walls must be constructed monolithic with floors; usual form of sliding joint was not permitted; mixing and placing concrete; construction methods; all stressing carried out on Magnel-Blaton system. (See also - discussion p 99-112)
