How to design bituminous concrete mixture with graded aggregates
Gradation of aggregates for bituminous concrete mixture may be either calculated or determined by satisfactory stability test; by either method it will be found that gradation will comply with "Gradation of Total Aggregates" as given in ASTM Tentative Specification D947-49T; percent of voids in consolidated mix of aggregates plus asphalt cement should be between 2 and 5%; calculation of amount of asphalt required for asphaltic concrete.
