Quality of blanks and tubes of 12Kh1MF steel
Cause of low and irregular impact strength values of tubes was traced to unsatisfactory heat treatment, i.e. excessively slow cooling after tempering; more accurate assessment of their properties can be obtained by testing tube blanks of large diameter (above 140 mm) on transverse instead of longitudinal specimens.
