Drawing long tubes on self-adjusting mandrel on straight drawing mills
Use of such mandrels permits substantial rise in drawing speeds and permissible degrees of reduction, which were restricted by severe vibration of stem when working on rigidly fixed cylindrical mandrels that caused production of tubes with surface defects; standardization of mandrel profile dimensions simplifies manufacturing process.
