Structure and properties of structural steels after low-temperature rolling
Steels containing 0.47 to 0.58% C were austenized at 1000 C, cooled to 500-530 C, and rolled in several passes to \ill\ 90% total reduction; after treatment, distinct anisotropy of macro-, micro- and substructure was observed, as well as anisotropy of mechanical properties; considerable increase in tensile strength and decrease in ductility were registered in direction perpendicular to that of rolling. (see also English translation in Metal Science and Heat Treatment of Metals n 3-4 Mar-Apr 1963 p 195-201)
