Consolidation theory applied to foundation pile time effects
Time increase in bearing capacity of friction pile in clays and silts is explained in terms of consolidation theory; case of single pile is examined in detail and with respect to available experimental data; problems connected with large clusters are outlined and limits are proposed for time effect on cluster.
