Note on three structures using timber
Roof structures using timber for 2 churches and hospital in England are described; roof of church at Patcham is geodesic dome square on plan, surface of which is triangulated framework of relatively short timber members joined at intersections by steel straps; space frame solution was adopted for Battle Hospital at Reading, requiring standard roof; folded plate construction using timber as chief element was selected for church at West Wickham, Kent.
