Research looks into roofing failures
Research conducted by Owens-Corning Fiberglas Corp Tech Center, Granville, Ohio, consists in taking cut-outs from actual roofs and subjecting them to rigorous laboratory examination, and in determining roofing failures due to splitting of built-up roofing; cut edges are examined for any evidence of nonuniformity and for voids in asphalt application, for numbers of plies and for other defects; cause of roof splits.
