Results obtained from tests in which 8 different silicones were used as admixtures for portland cement concrete; study showed that some of silicones improved strength and durability of concrete; optimum amount of silicone admixture was required to obtain maximum strength and durability; in most of tests, addition of silicones retarded setting time of concretes more than can usually be tolerated for normal construction purposes.
