Setting rate of asphalt concrete
Examination of construction and mix variables under controlled conditions to isolate factors responsible for slow setting; importance of mineral filler to pavement density and toughness is stressed; pavement toughness proved dependent on type and degree of compaction; setting is shown to be much faster in mix with crushed, angular aggregate rather than rounded gravel.
