Compaction of concrete road slabs
Investigation of relative importance of several characteristics of vibrating machines used to compact concrete from top surface; experimental vibrating machine was built to study effect of purely vertical sinusoidal vibration; machine was used over range of controlled amplitudes of 0.004-0.064 in., and controlled accelerations of 1-12 g; mixes of various design were used in tests.
