Unique shoring system cuts forming costs
Solution of problem of forming reservoir roof slab more than 31 ft in air by means of shoring carried by permanent columns of tank; in step-by-step construction of 250-ft diam, 10-million gal tank 120 round 14 in. diam concrete columns that are permanent props for reservoir roof were utilized to divide tank into 20-ft sq bays; steel beams were framed between columns, to support form plywood on steel joists spanning between beams.
