Development of new means of piling which is faster, more efficient and infinitely quieter is described, with reference to American and Continental practice; this is effected by vibrating pile either at its own natural frequency or that of soil into which it is being driven; remarkable results have been achieved so far, and system will probably supersede conventional methods.
