T-shaped concrete sheet piles renew deteriorated bulkhead

Cambered, asymmetrically stressed, precast concrete sheet piles were used to build new type of bulkhead at Phillips Chem Co Adams Terminal, in Pasadena, Tex; piles installed for rehabilitation of 1000 ft long bulkhead are T-shaped and have 3-ft wide face that is 7-in. thick; their use permitted shorter piles and eliminated need for low-level tie rod system.
