A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Curves for design of anchored sheet pile walls are presented which give free earth support values for uniform surcharge and any level of water in dredge channel for 4 positions of anchor rod; curves apply to fill bulkheads with clean loose sand deposited above dredge channel, and loose, medium or dense sand in place below channel; how curves can be used for any density of sand below channel and how free earth support values thus obtained may be modified to satisfy field conditions and experimental investigations of Rowe on relationship between bending moment and flexural rigidity of piles.
