New frame, old face, for Yale's Connecticut hall
Illustrated report on repair of Hall, built in 1750; exterior is of brick; floor construction consisted of hand hewn oak timbers spanning about 40 ft, but supported by center posts; due to similarity between condition of Connecticut Hall and that of White House, although on much smaller scale, similar methods for shoring, demolition, underpinning, new foundations, and steel erection were applied.
