Cable trusses prestress bridge
Concrete cantilever bridge, over Seine, between Villeneuve and St. Georges, near Paris, has 256-ft prestressed hollow girder center span incorporating 128-ft span 7 1/2 ft deep; concrete was prestressed by cables placed in truss-like arrangement in three cell hollow girders; thus, tensioned steel is accessible for inspection and can easily be adjusted to correct for loss of tension due to shrinkage and plastic flow of concrete and creep of cable.
