Aggregate grading and design of concrete mixes
Where vibration is to be employed on concrete of low workability, reduction can be made in water content, thus producing concrete of higher compressive strength and lower shrinkage; use of single sized aggregate is recommended, particularly where vibration is method of placing; concrete of this type is termed "gap-graded". (see also - discussion p 191-5)
