Wave run-up and overtopping levee sections, Lake Okeechobee, Florida
Hydraulic model investigation of levee sections proposed for impounding Lake Okeechobee to determine effectiveness of different types of sections in preventing excessive overtopping of protective levees by hurricane generated waves; most of tests were conducted on 1:30-scale models of levee sections installed in wave flume 94 ft long with testing section 1.5 ft deep and 1 ft wide; conclusions.
