Moisture conditions under flexible airfield pavements
Investigation of conditions under pavements on 13 airfields over period of several years indicates that base course and subgrade moisture contents become stabilized after about 2 yr; moisture contents in upper 18 in. were not found to be related to rainfall, contrary to those at 30 in.; CBR design procedures are conservative for nonplastic, but about right for plastic materials.
